Compassionate Legal Counsel for Indiana Families & Tenants
Dedicated to You, Every Step of the Way
Welcome to Lubanski Law, LLC. I am Attorney Nick Lubanski, and I am here to help you navigate the legal challenges that matter most to you and your family.
At Lubanski Law, I focus on two primary areas of practice: family law and landlord-tenant matters — specifically representing tenants. Whether you are facing a divorce, a custody dispute, a child support issue, or dealing with a landlord who has violated your rights, I bring focused, professional attention to your case.
How I Can Help You
Not every legal situation looks the same — and neither does every client’s budget or comfort level in the courtroom. That is why I offer two distinct ways to work together:
Traditional Legal Representation means I take the wheel. I handle your case from start to finish — appearing in court on your behalf, drafting and filing all documents, communicating with opposing counsel, and guiding you through every step of the process. You retain me, and I become your attorney of record for the duration of your matter.
Limited Scope Representation — also known as unbundled legal services — is a flexible, cost-effective alternative. Instead of hiring me for everything, you hire me for the specific parts of your case where you need professional help. Maybe you need me to review a document before you sign it. Maybe you want to talk through the right type of motion to file. Maybe you need help drafting a response, or just want a second set of eyes before you walk into a hearing. You handle the rest. I step in exactly where you need me — no more, no less.
Who This Is For
Lubanski Law proudly serves clients who often fall through the cracks of the traditional legal system:
Those with the capability to navigate the legal process on their own, but who want the confidence of professional guidance at key moments — whether that means reviewing a filing, consulting on strategy, or making sure the right paperwork is in order before a hearing.
Those whose cases may not be large enough for bigger firms to take on. Just because the dollar amount is small does not mean your rights are. Every case deserves real attention.
Those who cannot afford full traditional legal representation but earn too much to qualify for legal aid. If a traditional retainer is out of reach, or you simply need someone willing to work within your budget, I am here. Limited scope representation makes quality legal help accessible without requiring you to choose between justice and financial stability.
Why Indiana Encourages Limited Scope Representation
The State of Indiana recognizes that the gap between those who can afford attorneys and those who qualify for free legal aid leaves far too many Hoosiers without access to justice. In response, Indiana actively encourages attorneys to offer — and clients to use — limited scope representation as a bridge across that gap.
Indiana Rules of Professional Conduct Rule 1.2(c) expressly permits attorneys to limit the scope of their representation when the limitation is reasonable and the client provides informed consent. Indiana courts are designed to accommodate pro se litigants (those representing themselves), and having an attorney available for targeted assistance helps ensure those litigants are better prepared, better informed, and better protected — even if they are not fully represented.
Simply put: Indiana wants its residents to have access to the legal guidance they need, in whatever form makes sense for their circumstances. Limited scope representation is not a lesser form of legal help — it is a smarter, more accessible one.
