Limited Scope Representation
Not every legal matter requires full representation — and neither does every budget. Limited scope representation lets you hire an attorney for only the specific parts of your case where you need help. You stay in control while getting professional legal support where it counts most.
How Does It Work?
When you hire Attorney Nick for limited scope representation, you’ll agree upfront on exactly which tasks he’ll handle — and which tasks you will manage on your own. Nick will act as your attorney only for those agreed-upon portions. Outside of that scope, you represent yourself. This arrangement is clearly defined in a written agreement before any work begins.
Limited scope representation is designed for two types of clients:
Clients who cannot afford a large upfront retainer but still need skilled legal assistance at key moments in their case.
Clients who are confident handling most of their case on their own — but want a licensed attorney to step in for drafting, strategy, court filings, or representation at a specific hearing.
Why Choose Limited Scope?
You pay only for the legal help you actually need — not for a full retainer that covers services you could handle yourself. The American Bar Association recognizes limited scope representation as an important and ethical way to expand access to legal services. You get professional guidance at the moments that matter most, without the cost of full representation.
Reliability You Can Count On
We follow through, meet deadlines, and show up when it matters. Consistency is part of our promise.
Important to Understand
With limited scope representation, I am your attorney only for the specific tasks we agree upon. I am not your attorney for any other part of your case. You are responsible for all aspects of your matter outside our defined scope. This will be spelled out clearly in your representation agreement before any work begins. If your needs change during your case, we can discuss adjusting the scope of representation.
